Anand Karaj Sewa
Apply online to request Anand Karaj at Gurudwara Gobind Dham. The Gurudwara office verifies every application before any date is confirmed.
Anand Karaj Sewa
Gurudwara Gobind Dham is pleased to facilitate Anand Karaj Sewa in accordance with Sikh Maryada, applicable law and the approved rules of the Gurudwara. Anand Karaj is a sacred Sikh ceremony. Both applicants are requested to provide complete and truthful information, upload the prescribed documents, and participate in verification before a booking can be confirmed.
Submitting an application does not confirm the ceremony
Submission of an online application does not confirm the Anand Karaj or reserve the requested date. The booking is confirmed only after satisfactory verification, approval by an authorised Gurudwara representative, and issuance of written confirmation.Eligibility for application
- The Groom must have completed 21 years and the Bride 18 years on the proposed ceremony date. Documentary proof of date of birth is required.
- Both parties must freely consent to the proposed marriage, without force, coercion, fraud or undue influence, and satisfy the applicable legal requirements for capacity to marry.
- Neither party may have a living spouse under any existing legally subsisting marriage. All previous marriages must be disclosed.
- A previous marriage must have lawfully ended through divorce, annulment or death of the former spouse. Legal eligibility to remarry must be established; separation or pending divorce is insufficient.
- Both parties must profess the Sikh religion and meet the applicable Anand Karaj Maryada requirements as approved by the Gurudwara. Any uncertainty must be referred to the office before confirmation.
- There must be no legal impediment, including any applicable restriction relating to prohibited relationships or sapinda relationships. Claimed customary exceptions require advocate review.
- Applicants and their families must observe the approved Gurudwara Maryada, decorum and ceremony arrangements, and provide genuine, legible and consistent records.

Mandatory documents and checklist
Obtain the following separately for the Bride and Groom. A single document may satisfy more than one category only where it clearly contains the required details and the reviewer accepts it. Alternative government identification is accepted; Aadhaar is not the only permitted ID. Files may be PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB each, and must be clear and readable.
| Required item | Bride and Groom requirements |
|---|---|
| Photo identity | Government issued photo ID, such as passport, driving licence or Aadhaar. Use a masked Aadhaar copy where accepted; do not provide unnecessary full ID numbers. |
| Date of birth | Birth certificate, passport, Class 10 certificate, school leaving certificate or another officially accepted record showing the full date of birth. An identity document alone is insufficient if it does not establish a reliable date of birth. |
| Current address | Government address proof accepted by the office. Explain any difference between the current address and the uploaded record. |
| Recent photograph | A separate recent passport size photograph for each applicant. |
| Applicant declaration | The separate Bride or Groom declaration, completed, dated and signed, uploaded in addition to the applicant’s own recorded online acceptance. |
| Previous marriage records | Required for every previous marriage, as applicable: divorce or annulment decree and supporting finality records, or the former spouse’s death certificate. |
| Family witness records | One witness from each side: photo ID, full name, relationship, address, mobile and signed witness declaration, plus separate online acceptance. |
A declaration or affidavit is supporting evidence. It does not replace age proof, a court decree, a death certificate or other legally necessary evidence. The Gurudwara may ask to inspect originals before confirmation; original identity documents are not retained.
